Powys County Council DBS Umbrella Body Service
We are pleased to announce that Powys County Council have made the decision to resume its Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Umbrella Body Service. An Umbrella Body can process DBS applications on behalf of other organisations/clients.
As an umbrella body for the DBS, we are able to process DBS checks for clients who are not registered to process themselves. Powys County Council are pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to make use of the facility we have as an umbrella body for the DBS.
Previously, many organisations could apply for the facility to process DBS disclosures for their staff. Changes to this mean that unless an organisation is processing over 100 applications per year, they will need to use an umbrella body for this service. We would like to offer you the opportunity to use our service to process your DBS applications for all your new staff, and for any renewals you may need.
Powys County Council’s Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Unit helps employers to make safer recruitment decisions. A number of roles, especially those involving children or vulnerable adults, require a Disclosure and Barring Service check. We provide a first-class service by supporting organisations who recruit people into positions of trust by enabling them to help protect children and vulnerable adults.
Our service is fast, friendly and efficient. We have a dedicated, experienced team who are able to process and monitor DBS applications as well as provide expert support and advice.
We can process your DBS checks regardless of the size of your organisation. The DBS Unit can process DBS forms for volunteer groups, local clubs or large organisations employing hundreds of staff.
